The Carter is a luxury, class A+ apartment complex located in Houston, Texas. The development is a 20-story high-rise building with apartments, townhome units, amenity space, and attached parking garage with levels of below-grade parking. The owner requested Blue Quality Services provide our comprehensive Building Enclosure Quality Assurance Program during design and construction to verify that the building and all of its systems and assemblies were designed, installed, and tested to meet the owner’s requirements.

During construction, our field services team performed AAMA 502 and 503 testing on operable doors and fixed windows in accordance with AAMA testing specifications. Our field services team developed a testing sampling strategy allowing them to verify window and door installation techniques throughout the complex, giving the owner actionable feedback about subcontractor performance and helping to identify inconsistencies that could lead to systemic problems in the future. Field and testing reports were provided to a group of stakeholders immediately following the tests to reduce delays in the project schedule and enable quick remedial actions.
